The Cage

The cage series explores my feeling of being trapped.  Of not really living, but rather hiding from the world.  When I am in the cage I am waiting, waiting for someone to take me out of it.  Set me free.  I feel that I need someone, or something to open the door, and take me outside.  To offer me the protection that the cage gives me.  

However through making it I have come to realise there is only one person that can really let me out of the cage and that is me.  The cage represents my fear of the outside.
